The introduction of GLOBECOM 2002 WPG Service

The wireless projector gateway is an innovative device designed for cable-less presentations. It comes with IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN capability. With it, the speaker can project the screen of his notebook computer without physically connecting to a projector by a cumbersome VGA cable. Thus, you no longer need to worry about passing the VGA cable from speaker to speaker.

WPG users requirement
1. Wi-Fi WLAN card compatible with IEEE 802.11b .
2. Microsoft NetMeeting installed .
3. Display resolution for notebook: 1024x 768 .

WPG Features
1. Network presentation via 802.11b Wi-Fi Standard .
2. Provide gateway services for wireless communications .
3. Provide scheduling service via web function .
4. 1U Height 19” Rack-mount device .

 

The steps of using WPG service
1.
(1) Make sure the WLAN card is installed and setup successfully.
(2) Set SSID (or ESSID) to be "GLOBECOM ". 
(3) Disable WEP.
(4) Set your TCP/IP to be DHCP (that automatically assigns IP addresses to client stations).
(5) Choose never dial-up connection of your browser.
(6) Disable proxy.
2. (1) Make sure the Microsoft NetMeeting have been installed on your notebook and setup successfully.
(2) Check the Directory setting with “Log on to a directory server when NetMeeting starts” not activating.
Run the NetMeeting and select “Tools | Options”

 Join the meeting provided by projector gateway

(4) Use application-sharing function to do your presentation
